450x8 (3.6Ghz) is what the x3350 likes 24/7 and remaining cool, calm, and collected.
CPU-Z Validator 2.1

The P5K-E is a surprisingly stable piece of equipment for a $100 board.

3.6GHz, you mean. :P

Ya, I rock at math! Editing...

And ya, got on an open box binge a while back and it was a good value. Came with everything but the CPU cover. Got lucky I guess. Doesn't like having that 800Mhz memory over 460 one bit though. Even tried 1066 sticks and it just seems to not stay up more than a day. This one is an early version that seems to be a low-bin P5K Deluxe re-badged.

Temps kinda get hot on the board though. Putting some ramsinks on the naked VRM IC's helped, but not much. They had shown 48-50C with the dual and crossed 60C with the quad even with much lower volts.

One BGA cooler covers two IC's, so four would be needed. Only dropped it a couple degrees and that got it like being a hair over 450.

I'll try a suicide run on it just to tinker around. The 8400 is more comfy in there and need to get the quad in the big brother and back in use. The Premium board makes it almost too easy. All in all, good little $500 box. I'd think a person aiming for the 7200 would love the P5K-E.

Hey, I got my p5k-e for $100 bucks too (from the anandtech forums), and I got it with everything besides the cpu cover, lol.

I'm gonna have to try tossing some heatsinks on those vrms too.... I have some extra's lieing around here that aren't getting used.

Too bad my p5k doesn't like running while inside my good case though.... was running great outside with the smaller psu. Time to swap cases... I'm still hoping to get a cpu-z screenie up tonight.
EDIT: Just got it to post at 3.6ghz.... nearly a 100% overclock. I really need to get this mobo into a case that doesn't make it emo so I can get into windows and see what really works (btw, that was with 1.4v on the cpu and 2.2v on the ram.)

So here's the only shot I can find of my suicide shot on my e6300. Unfortunately its huge, but meh, so I'm just gonna link.

For the lazy I got 504x7 = 3530 mhz from 1860
voltage was a relatively low 1.325v, so with time i might be able to get even higher.

My board is the Biostar p965pt (not deluxe) so i was impressed at this.

I'm cooling it with a cnps9500 and a few 120mm fans on the hard drives

if you look you can tell i didn't try with the memory :S (you caught me)

That's a pretty darn impressive number given the motherboard you're using. How stable was (is?) it?

Haha...thank you. It wasn't stable at all. It booted consistently, but couldn't run benchmarks or cpu intensive things without sending off a BSOD. It was not 24hr prime95 stable until i dropped it down to 450x7=3150 mhz... which is where it is running now. Nice thing is, it's at stock voltage :D

I'm going to try again tonight if I have the time. I was using server 2k3 at the time of the OC and I dunno if I trust it as much as a solid xp pro install.

Seeing it could post at 1.325v I'm pretty sure it could be stable at 1.4v, which isn't unheard of voltages for E6300/E6400 OC'ing.

I was only able to get about 200-300MHz OC on my E6400 and E6600 on my P965...

Thanks HL and Corsair!
