ok, put your system info here and when you get a chance put it in your sig for future usage (also see HERE and see if anything else is needed)

Question though, how are you getting that CPU speed on 1.21V? Seems kinda low...
I have mine on 2.76ghz @1.45V, and nothing lower would keep that speed.

If you are not currently overclocking, or if as screwballl pointed out, you are actually underclocked, and IF your system is stable, then I would leave the voltage alone. If you want to overclock to 4ghz, then you will definately need to raise the voltage, or you'll have problems.

If you do decide to raise the volts, go into BIOS and look for the voltage options. If your BIOS will allow it, then you can alter the voltage from there - my settings are located in the GenieBIOS section, check for a similar setting in yours. But be careful in doing so. You'll have to find a balance between setting the voltage, the FSB and memory ratio.

What ever you do, make sure you're keeping track of your temperatures as you increase the voltage. Make a very small voltage adjustment and then see how far you can overclock your CPU on that voltage.

What cooling are you running on your CPU? What PSU do you have?

Q6600@ 3.2GHz w/ CNPS9700 | EVGA 780i | 2Gb Corsair DDR2-800 | EVGA GTX 280 1Gb Video | 1x WD 640Gb HDD, 2x Seagate 400Gb HDD, 1x250Gb WD | 2x Samsung SH-203B Opticals | Antec 900 | ABS/Tagan BZ700 700W PSU

prescott based cpu's could actually overclock quiet well with minimal voltage increases. the problems with the prescotts arised when temps started to spiral out of control. as Quake said, make sure you monitor temps, even if you dont increase voltage

No one here will lie to you and tell you that overclocking doesn't come with some risks. I have had my system overclocked for a little over a year now since I built it, but when I was first trying to get where I have it set now, I was as nervous about it as you are now. I have been fortunate that I haven't had any serious problems with it, but I made sure to make cooling a top priority. My first attempt at overclocking was in trying to OC my video card with only stock cooling, and OC tests and outright attempts to do it ultimately killed my card. So, there you go...

I am one that has done very little overclcoking and tend to stick with the original speeds.... I may still OC my E6600 in the future when I have time to run all the testing..

but from what I have seen it is not easy and is very dependent on the generation and type of CPU you have
