But under air though? You've got a killer WC setup and reaching into the lower 50's, I'm thinking of what TG might be looking at with the GeminII setup. Think it would run cooler then mid-high 60's?

There could be a hole there around 490-500, think it was the same with the 680i when it first came out. Have you tried jumping past that to 510 or higher?

I don't think the 8x is what's stopping the Q9450 to go higher. Many boards will do 500FSB and up without a hitch, I guess you've just hit the OC wall were you have to put a metric ton of volts on it to get a few more mhz.

If there is a final hour, let's hope for a higher power. One by one, and two by two, I have ammo, what about you?

Haha nice, I remember right around 500MHz being a "hole" on the 680i, spot where for some reason it just will not stabilize. New BIOS updates close and open new holes, not sure why they exist but know they can only be found in testing. Mine has a hole right around 450-460MHz, but jump past that to 465MHz and it's all good.

As long as the hole isn't from 450 to 550, I guess you're good to go.

That would suck horribly, as I've gotten past 520 just not completely stable. I think my RAM may be running too hot for it's liking, as undervolting it tends to stabilize it even at higher clocks. Then again it could just be craptacular RAM handling of the 680i. I've got a cheapo RAM cooler coming in tomorrow or the next day, this little ghetto thing here:
Newegg.com - EVERCOOL EC-MSW-R Strong Wind Memory Cooler(Red) - Memory & Chipset Cooling
Just to see if getting some airflow across the sticks will help any.
