| socket 939 junkie | no, the 8800GT outperforms the HD3870 by about 10-15%. basically the HD3870 is what the HD2900XT should have been. (as in its cool, cheap and just as fast, sometimes slightly faster than the HD2900XT) |

| socket 939 junkie | supposed to retail at $219 for the HD3870 and $179 for the HD3850. however the HD3870 is retailing for around $249 at newegg. the HD3850's are spot on there respective pricing at the egg. |

| 3870's were a deal when they were first released, but they gone up to just about 8800GT levels now. The Egg had 8800GT at $259 yesterday when I looked.
