CCC use to change on the fly when I requested it. Now it does not. I've used "fthdribl", it opens a window in 3d with some shiney balls with HDR. The clockspeed stays at "current".

That's the problem, it stays at below the stock speeds now: (down from 621/747

core is at 594
mem is at 693

IT's not going to change on the fly when you request it. The only time it changes is when your screen goes into 3dmode. Matter of fact, it's very difficult to even alt tab out and see the 3dclocks.

And with ATI tool open, the clocks are automatically 594\693 AND the voltages are lower.

Well, when I try and up the clocks now, it doesn't go nearly as high as it use to. Does that mean, some of the card is toast?

What power supply are you running? That could be a possible culprit if it's a low-budget model. The X1800 XTs draw a lot of power and it's critical that they get clean power.

Even after this, it can well be a driver problem so you might need to uninstall and re-install completly your drivers.
Have you tried any of this yet?

I have not tried to reinstall drivers yet, though I did look for the CMOS pins on the card. I could not find any jumpers to reset. Do I have to take the fan/heatsink off or something, or are they plainly visable?

Since when do GPUs have CMOS Clear jumpers? GPU's BIOSes are not like a motherboard BIOS. They don't have freely adjustable settings that can be cleared with a simple button or jumpers. The only way to change a GPU BIOS is too flash it, which changes the whole BIOS.

My Radeon 9600 had jumpers, but they were to set between NTSC and PAL mode for TV out.

EIDIT: Do what he said though, Un-install ATI Tool and the ATI drivers. Reboot, download the latest catalyst 7.1s, reinstall and try again.

I alway's though that was a way to reset a possibly borked card, even polo told me that was what it was for. Oh well, good to know.

Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen a clear CMOS jumper on a video card either.
