Once you got it running it's not that bad. Just a PITA to get running imo. And the no service thingie really annoys me. You have the program always in your taskbar and whatnot.
However, the PPD is worth it. :D

definitely, ppd is well worth it. The numbers for the LinuxSMP I hear are even higher too

Quote:
For Windows XP and 2000:
install the Microsoft .NET framework v2.0 before installing the SMP client. Next, run the self-extracting installer to choose an installation directory and install the files there. Then run install.bat in the installation directory to complete the install process. The client is started by running the fah.exe binary. More detailed instructions are at the bottom of this page.
it can't use .NET 1.1 (or 3.0 I don't think)

I wish... it is a pain having that window open.. I heard it works for some people but not others.... I would assume you could start it as a service somehow but just not using its own built in service starter.

No I tried with an application (can't remember the name right now... :\) and it still doesnt work. Gives EUE all the time or simply won't start half of the time.

Edit: I'm getting around 800ppd with this client btw. Somehow my other standard clients won't give me stuff to do for so long. :S When i'm finally assigned something to do it's 150ppd crap. :\

Okay darn it, i want this to work, what am I doing wrong?

Vista firewall is off, the install has been set to run and admin and not, no difference. The BAT gets just past the password stage and then says it cannot connect to my machine.

hmmmm try to open the Fah.exe and see if it will actually start the client... if it does then no harm done... create a shortcut to this executable on the desktop for when you need to start it up
