| Ahhh I see. I always close it with Ctrl + C though. Weird. Oh well. I have 12931 points and 11WU done :) I think Project 2652 is my favorite because it goes at like 800 PPD! While 2608 gets like 500 :(. I have been noticing that lately I have been getting less points for each WU. Why is this so? When I started doing SMP Client I was getting about 1600 per WU. Last one I did got me 1300 :( And this next one is 1100 (Based on FahMon) =/ |

| The points for SMP WU's are coming down because they're cutting back on the bonus for them. Now that the SMP client has become more stable, and with the cpu's increasing in power (more dual-core, GPU, PS3, and quad-core now folding), the WU's for SMP should be falling in points so they're more in line with the other WU's from the uni-processor client. I'm still getting a mix of WU's on my SMP rigs - everything from 1300's to 1756. We're still receiving a real bonus from the SMP WU's, so it's still the best client around, for sure. The high bonus initially given did knock the point rankings into a cocked hat, so I'm glad to see them moderated downward. Stanford says the SMP client will always use the fastest loops, regardless of the "using standard loops", message in the log file. But they also say to use the "-forceasm" flag, due to a bug in the code. So I use the forceasm flag, and don't worry about the problem of standard loops, at all. |

| Hey, I was searching on YouTube and randomly got a BSOD :( It said "DRIVERS_IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" :( Dont know what it means but when I restarted FAH it stayed at the "+ Working ..." line for like 25 minutes and it started a new WU =/ I was 35% into my last one :( Why?!?! What did the BSOD mean, and why the #$%^ did it start a new WU? My last one was perfectly fine!!! -robodude666 |

Fine, except it leaves the client still running, sometimes. (happened to me this AM when a network router went unexpectedly, off-line) You're right, there probably was nothing wrong with the WU, it's just a problem with the WinSMP client, right now, that they haven't got a fix for, yet. You should have seen the Linux SMP client when it first came out!! It was a total trainwreck! Now, it's very stable, though. The Window's client will take a lot longer to de-bug, just because programming in Windows is more difficult than programming in Linux. It will happen, though. Until then, try to keep your patientce, remember it is just a beta, and that we're all given lots of bonus points for just this reason, with every SMP work unit we fold. | |
