ok, I've started folding. Got 3 WU done, its faster than I thought. I have tried it on the PS3 in the past and it seemed to give ridiculous estimated times so I gave up that. Hope I can be of some use to the team now.

great. hehe, its fast because those were very small WU's. its OK, any little bit helps but if you ever feel like trying the SMP client don't hesitate. it will give you those 1760 and 2100, 2500 pointers. my D830 (which is about 1/3 the speed of your CPU, does a 1760 gromack in 2 days (48h) (on 24/7), doing 829 PPD right now, so I can imagine your rig would do it in less than 24 hours. since the deadline for these is 4 days (96h), you could still make it even with moderate daily usage of your rig. its worth the try
in case you don't know, you can check your stats, by going in the welcome thread and/or by using fahmon.

Main rig:

Yeah a E6750 should do alright at SMP, fits right in the deadlines without problem. My C2D E8400 @ 4Ghz does a 1760pts WU in less than a day, giving me a ~2200 PPD average.
I highly recommend FahMon to check your stats. It's easier than EMIII (at least for me it was) and gives a very good overview of how F@H is running.
It even saved me once, I redid my F@H config and somehow managed to put it under the Anonymous name instead of mine. As soon as I noticed in FahMon I fixed it. :P

I typically suggest at least a Core2 for the SMP. My E2140 (stock speeds) typically finishes them with an hour or two before the final deadline.

Thanks HL and Corsair!

what PPD do you get on the E2140? my D830 gets 760-829 PPD (depending on the WU) and can easily fit in the deadlines (of course I fold 24/7)

it folds 24/7 as well, I think it is around 1000-1100 but I think it is also getting the SMP WUs that have a final deadline of 48 hours.

nice your E6750 should have something around 1500 PPD or more depending on if you OC or not, so it's no biggie. are you monitoring with fahmon? if not I suggest you do. it tells your PPD exactly and also what the deadline is and your WU's estimated finishing time
