Yep, that first WU took forever to finish!
Can someone give me a link to the SMT client and some pointers about it (if any are needed beyond common sense)?

hm, I looked it up myself on Stanford's website (we have a link from the welcome section) and installed it but then I switched it back to the console version. the main 2 reasons I didn't like the SMP client is that:
1. you need to have a password protected account in windows (I like to have my rig booting in without me having to type anything)
2. the SMP client can't be made to run as a service (at least not yet) and so I have to turn it on and off and is always in the tray.
so I just have 2 regular consoles, 1 for each core of my D830. they just run there silently and I don't have to bother with them...oh and no password to my user account

I also tried running the SMP client, and after running it for a full night, it was still at 0%, so I removed it and went back to 2 regular clients.

if you have 4 cores than 4 clients just make a folder for each client and when setting up, open advanced settings and when choosing the core # give it 1, the second client 2 and so on...

but you are looking at severely reduced points when using the single clients... about 1200+ points per SMP core versus 100-400 for even multiple "single core" clients

screwball is right. I've been using the SMP client for 2 weeks now and my PPD went up from 200-300 to 1500p.

I also figured out how to make it run as a client (see the updated folding tips)
Additional tips on folding...

I also made some updates in the welcome section (adding info about the new BETA GPU2 client (ATI 2xxx and 3xxx series GPU's), removing the link to electron microscope (the download page and support is long time gone and it seems it will not come back. anyway it lacked support for the SMP client)
Welcome to the HardwareLogic F@H Team!

now lets get folding
