Well, my desktop is at 2% on a Mini Chaperonin, and my Asus Eee lappy is at 40% on a Mini Chaperonin as well. It just takes a long time, as each are worth 1000 points and have 500000 steps.

Maybe I set something up wrong to get such big work units?

Main PC: Intel Pentium D 930, Asus P5LP-LE, 2GB DDR2-4300 RAM @ 4-4-4-12, Lightscribe CD/DVD Drive, DVD-ROM, 300W PSU, GeForce 7300LE, Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II, HP Media Drive Port, 300 GB Hard Drive

Funny you should ask, I came across one called Protein Think

Haven't tried it yet, but planning on setting it up before too long.

I don't know about the Mini Chaperonin thing, but I can tell you a few other things. (Oh, I see... yeah, I'm on Mini Chaperonin, too. 1000 ps, 500000 steps. 57% right now. Alright, now you can read the rest.)

First off, I don't think you set it up "wrong" - I'm pretty sure it's doing the same thing whether it is set to update more often with less time (work) in between, or whether it's set to "checkpoint" less often with more work between updates. Second, on my setup, (see my signature,) I get almost exactly 1% every hour. (Yes, one percent.)

I wonder if it's not to hard to start it up on more than one core? Oh, heh... just found that, too! "sudo fah6 -advmethods (Now why didn't the "-gpu" option work...)

Bad news all...the checksums didn't match...so it discarded the work and downloaded another Mini. Chaperonin (500000 steps, 1000 pts.). Hope it doesn't do that on laptop as well.

My desktop's client got another FILE_IO_ERROR, which forced it to go download another file...why does this keep happening

Thanks, and I am on the board! (even if it's a lousy 15 points!)
