This is rather odd. It is not unheard of to have a few degrees difference between cores, but, in general, an 8C to 10C difference is a bit much. i was actually just looking at that earlier, i do remember when i applied the paste that i had not spread it out first, so maybe that was not the best way.

Another thing, i saw someone else post on newegg that they got their core temps down to 19-20C are mine going too high for the setup i have? not overclocked.. Yet

I think you should be plenty good. To be honest, I think that guy on newegg was just crazy.

yeah, right now my core temps are 30 and 36, but when they start getting full load they seem to stay at the exact same temp. under a full load they kept switching between 40-41c (i used everest to check the load)

Your temps are fine. And if your cores are close to each other while at full load, then things are likely fine. Core Temp, Everest and the like are not exact temps but you are fine in that range.
