I myself am giving my E6600 a small bump but nowhere near where you or others have theirs. I don't feel like flushing away my hard earned money

That scares me a bit cuz it took me 4-5 years to get this computer i got... It was my christmas present after my parents gave me their car but i crashed it one night cuz i was a lil intoxicated. I totaled it straight into a pole with 6 people in my Nissan Sentra 2004. I was tryin to drift on a 25 mph turn but my wheels were already losing traction n BOOM! I was scared ****less about what my parents were gonna do. COps never came but it was cool cuz the tow truck driver came up helped us out n then smoked us out. It was a crazy night, but back to computers, i hope my computer lasts more than a year .... Screwball what ghz are u runnin at?? And panda man i added u but it says ur offline

my E6600 now is at stock 2.4 but I figure I will kick it up to around 2.8 and leave it there.

Thanks HL and Corsair!

It's good to hear that you're willing to respect the risk of overclocking...It will help you in your quest to find out the right way to go about it, and to make sure you don't make a costly mistake if that's the road you decide to take. I'm overclocked 38%, and I think about it quite a bit. My wife always comments to me that I'm always looking at my temps and other readings, but she doesn't know I'm oc'd. I'd never hear the end of it I just tell her that I like to keep an eye on things... What screwballl said is true enough, no faster way to kill stuff than to oc, but I've been oc'd for over a year, and no issues. I hope it stays that way.

If it's not fixed, then don't broke it!

I'll admit that overclocking can cause issues sooner rather than later. But as long as my system lasts 2-3 years, I'm happy. I don't keep computers around much longer than that without upgrading. That being said, I'm running my E6600 at 3.2Ghz 24/7 and 1.325V. My temps are around 54*C loaded. As soon as I get my computer into a new Antec 900, I expect those temps to go down 3-4*C.
