I think what I'm going to do is this: I'm going to get another more current board, so the chipset won't be an issue with SP2, and perhaps a small hdd for the OS, and then have the 160GB drive (reformatted) for storage. I'm going to start with just the board, the cpu, the small hdd, one 512MB ram stick, and the video card to install Windows, similar to the way I built my "MegaRig". Then other things, like the second hdd and other cards can come after I make sure Windows is in and working like it should.

I think I do have a small video card somewhere, and maybe I'll use it or the one that's been in there...I don't know yet. Things aren't supposed to be this hard...

If it's not fixed, then don't broke it!

The drive I usually get is the Western Digital Caviar WD400BB 40GB or a Hitachi, but it doesn't look like they sell it any more.

Make sure the vid card is compatable with your mobo. You probably need a 4x / 8x

I'm the "queen" of stuff happening. Last year when my dad was sick I built my Xeon server. What a mistake that was. I didn't have the time needed to build and made mistakes with everything from ordering the wrong ram & hard drives to mistakes when it booted. Same thing when I built my son's in August, altho his ran lol
