Red, White/Yellow, Green, Black, KEY. ;)

Red is pin 1, KEY is the other end where there's no pin (normally 9). Sometimes white wire is yellow, depends from case.
So if you have a connector like this on your board;
2|4|6|8|10
1|3|5|7|9

On the row starting from left to right you have Red, White, Green, Black, Empty. On the 10 pin it's recommended to put a second ground though it'S far from necessary.

Most cables dont even come with a second ground anyways :-/

Thanks guy's, it looks like both cables go on one mobo connector with 2 grounds and 1 pin that says NC left over. Does this really need to be so confusing? Why not make the cables with 1 nine pin on each end. I haven't even gotten to the front speaker connection yet and they are 4 single connectors on each cable end.

It's the same for separate pins.

the reason they use sperate pins is because some mobo manufactures dont play by the rules, and make weird non standard ocnnections

Thanks guy's. :D

Now that's out of the way I have another question. :D

My front panel connectors for the switches and led's.

13579
246810

1-3 is the fp pwr/slp
5-7 is the pwr sw p
9 is NC
2-4 is the HD led
6-8 is the rst sw
10 is rsvd

I know my power switch goes on 5-7 and hdd led on 2-4 and reset switch on 6-8 but I have a power led that is 3 wide with wires on the outside 2 only. Where the heck does it go?

I had the same problem with my mobo to, I had to cut the middle empty pin hole out with scissors
then trim some of the plastic on the other pin holes with the wires, so i could put each individual conector on the pins.Works wonderfully

Ok I found a adapter that takes it from 3 to 2 wires sweet. I plugged it into the 1-3 pins on the front panel connector on the mobo does that sound right?

Take a needle, lift the plastic tab from the green power led and put it in the middle instead. Then plug it, with the empty pin hole going outside the pins.

PWXX|PWLG|PWLW|PWS1|PWS2|

XXXX being empty
PWXX empty power hole
PWLG power led green
PWLW power led white
etc etc

Happens all the time when building comps :P
No need to cut, just lift the little plastic tab and it should come out easily.
