Default Re: Sound Card Addition

sounds like a mobo short somewhere between a usb connection and the sound... have you tried unplugging ALL of the case connectors (like USB, sound, firewire) except pwr & reset?

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Default Re: Sound Card Addition

Going back this morning to check everything on MOBO.
They are saying sound is fairly good while playing CD's but when listening to "Callwave" while on Internet have to turn speakers all the way up to hear the playback.
This computer has really taken a LOT of abuse, he beat on switch trying to get it to come on when PSU went out, broke the power button and the switch. Also the two USB ports in front aren't working either since he beat on it.
Told the woman that owns it to buy another computer for her and give that one to him and let him find someone to fix it when he tears it up in his rages. She said he would only tear hers up too while she is at work.
Life goes on.
Am going to take flash drive with me and look at system info and save a copy to my drive. Maybe will show the sound card and the onboard sound when I enable it again.
