That motherboard sounds like it is just a flaky P.O.S. and probably isn't worth the hassle. Do you have another power supply you could try with it? Have you tried reseating the video card too? And double check the monitor cables and connections while you're at it too

It would be better if you had an optical drive and could put the driver disk in ther.....ASUS board have a feature that if the BIOS is corrupted, they will automatically boot from the disk drive and recover the BIOS....sometimes it works, sometimes not so much.
Well, I've cleared the CMOS just like you said, and I just went and got one of the sata ODD's from my dads computer to use temporarily, so I'll try out the driver disc.

If this doesn't work, I would try to RMA EVERYTHING.....PSU, CPU, RAM, optical drive, motherboard, graphics card......you have no idea what could have been damaged by the power supply and what looks like some sort of surge.
I can't RMA the CPU, it's an ES processor.
Dang..... this really sucks.

Keep me posted on this Parker, I'll help with whatever I can.
Will do! Thanks Rich.

Hmmm, what does P.O.S mean?
Never heard of that before....

And no, I don't have another PSU..... I spent all my money on the on this one.

I've tried two of the PCIe slots, reseated several times, and DVI the cable is plugged in correctly.

Not trying to be a jerk, but man I'll tell you what. That looks EXACTLY like what happened to my brothers computer when he installed a new optical drive and forced the SATA power plug on the wrong way. Just a thought.

It happens sometimes......a connector works its way loose, and because it isn't fully connected, it burns up what its connected to....i've seen it happen most often to optical drives and hard drives.

Parker, I'm not that worried about all the hardware, it was just a thought that if you could RMA it to be 100% safe, you should.....there is probably nothing wrong at all with anything except the board and optical drive (and that PSU connector).

If there is a final hour, let's hope for a higher power. One by one, and two by two, I have ammo, what about you?

Really? Although i'm pretty certain that I didn't put it in wrong.... but who knows, it's burnt and semi melted and I can't tell....

Yea, I know what you mean....
I wouldn't mind RMA'ing the PSU, but it's just that I can't RMA the board, and if it's dead then I don't have a board to use.

in a business environment, POS does mean Point of Sale... but many times the POS programs are a POS (as in Piece of S|-|!t)
