Not only, I just found out CanadaComputers SCREWED me. One of their stupid employees gave me the WRONG receipt - a Reprint Copy rather than my Customer Copy - what does this mean? I can't do ANYTHING with it. So I'm going in to speak with the main manager to sort it all out - I'm ready to give an ear f*** if necessary - they put me in the mood to tell them off now. They've screwed me up more times in the past 5 days than they do other life long customers. So I'm stuck with my Corsair for now until this gets sorted out (most likely TODAY) when I'll get my Crucial Ballistix set. Little problem: I can only get the 667MHz version of the Crucial Ballistix. Is this alright? Can I consider it EASY to overclock it to 800MHz comfortably...or should I grab the OCZ Plat Rev2 XTC stock 800MHz set?

Hmmm... The Ballistix set @ 667MHz has 3-3-3-12 timings!!! The 800MHz version is 4-4-4-12. Now...if I raise the 667MHz's timings to 4-4-4-12...can I be confident enough that I can squish out 800MHz? I do prefer Ballistix RAM over any other set to be honest with you...and it seems pretty likely for this O/C to be successful.

So I picked up a set of PC2-5300 a.k.a. 667MHz Curicial Ballistic. Brought it up to 800MHz, changed the timings to 4-4-4-12 just like the original 800MHz kit, and it runs like a dream. No errors at all. Also, it's just warm to the touch (this is about 10 mins after running it with no side panel). The airflow in the case I'm sure is more than adequate to keep it perfect. The rated voltage is 2.2v...I have it at 2.25v (wow...big deal). This is for both the 667MHz and the 800MHz version, so I raised it by 0.5 just to ensure the stability, though I'm sure it'll do fine at stock voltage.

Which is why I'm convinced it's a compatibility issue with my motherboard. Not sure why, but it seems very unlikely to get two bad kits of RAM, like you said. Yet here on their support forums, one of the reps stated the set that I had will work perfectly in the P5B Deluxe...uh oh! Mushkin Support Forums :: View topic - Ram for Asus P5B Deluxe But we mustn't forget - although very unlikely - it's still possible that both kits in a row were bad...
