I was actually thinking more of the smell of a certain illegal substance, that when you smell it once you always remember that smell.

Depends on which one you buy. If it's for the one in your sig I would say 500-600watt $100-$125.

even a GOOD antec 430W would cover that

and if you do go 450-500 make sure its ACTUALLY the wattage it claims to be - not all of them are.

in your case, the Cooler Master eXtreme Power 600W (which is really actually a 500W) will do well and its about $70-80 CAD!

Personally in my opinion you don't need a high wattage PSU. Much as mentioned a good PSU capable of delivering 450 to 500 Watts is fine. Since you don't need a high end, high power PSU you can likely snag a very good brand name PSU in the 450 to 550 Watt range for a reasonable cost.

Now personally, and based solely on my experience with a 600 Watt but really 500 Watt Cooler Master I would avoid it like the plague. Again, just my thoughts but I had a real bad experience with one of those 600 Watt supplies as I cover here:

Dead Cooler Master

Though the low price is appealing, you can see why I just have this thing about Cooler Master when it comes to PSUs. Just my take and I am sure others have had better luck. Following the rebate which they were very good about it only cost me $20 in a retail store. That was about all it was worth. Your call but I would focus on a name like Antec or another manufacturer like those mentioned.

If this PSU is to run the system in your signature (Pentium-D 930 CPU, 7300 video card, etc), the something like the Antec Earthwatts EA430 would be fine and comes in at a very reasonable $77.63 shipped from Newegg.

An Antec SmartPower 2.0 350W would power that without a problem. If you want to feel safe, you can always pick a 400 or 450W model. You can pick one for around 60,00 CAD.

Blake, WhiteEagle is in Canada. Ontario more precisely, if I remember correctly.
You can pick an EarthWatt 380W for 56,99$ @ Canada Computers.
Canada Computers - Power Supplies/Equipments > Desktop PSUs : Antec EARTHWATTS POWER SUPPLY EA-380 380W ATX V2.0 APFC 80PLUS ROHS.

Yo dudes, I'm in Alberta. Where'd ya get the notion I was in Ontario, polobunny

I'm taking my computer to the Staples store where I bought it, and they're shipping it via FedEx to HP to get a bench-fix. Thank God I still have 43 days on my warranty.

So I'll be without my PC for at least two weeks I think. Not bad at all. (Though HP could improve it's Customer Service times on the phone...)

You bought an HP computer from Staples. It must be worse in Canada then I thought.

Glad you got it all figured out.
