| Re: new build turning evil HELP ME Clearing the CMOS jumper can, and will, often fix a lot of buggy problems on a new build. I'm sure there's an electrical engineer out there somewhere that has written a paper on this phenomenon, and explains much better than I can, but suffice it to say that when you've just built a computer, checked all the cables and connections and are still having issues that seem video card related, clearing the CMOS will work wonders.
This is also true for CPU and Ram issues right after a build.
