| i bought the Arctic Cooler Freezer Pro 7 and Compund and it did bring the Temp Down Alittle But it's Still Showing the Fmae Icon on Speed Fan And its Getting up to around 70C with Everest and MId 50's WIth Speedd Fan UNder Full Load At Idle Everest 45 C Speed FAn 28 Computer never actually Overheated yet but i dont like the idea of it being that warm only option left to help would be getting a FanController As stated to spped the Fan up and keep the Proc. Cooler Cause my Fan speed only stays around 900-1200 Rpms And i believe Fan is Capable of up to 2500 |

| Want me to ice him, boss? | I'm jumping in here because im curious of the kind of compund you are using and how it was applied.I understand you have a quad core and it may run hotter than my setup.....but that cooler you have is a decent model IMO....but not top notch. As far as your fan speed.....get a bigger gerbil. ![]() Seriously,though....I would do as others stated and try a fan controller. |

| i ordered Some Diamond Stuff Compound everyone said its really good and when i got that and the Fan it definetly lowered the Temps i think it has more to do with the Dg33TL Fan Control the incorporated some new quiet Crap so it keeps the Fan Speed Low Untill It absolutly needs it to start speeding up and then Quickly Brings the Temp Down But even at that point the highest i ever Saw the Fan Sppe Jump To was 1600 RPM's i think im goin to try the Fan Controller I thin that will do it becaue if the Fan Speed up as it used to once there was a load fan speed increased there wouldnt be this Problem |

| F Ucn rd dis U mst uzUNIX | What case is this in? I have that board in a Silverstone SG01 and have battled temps since it's been built...about the same time this thread started. The Q6600 was just too much, went through an E8400 for the most part, still hot, and the E7200 is much more comfortable...but still hot. It's loaded 24/7 while folding, so that's one reason really. But while used as a desktop for the GF and not the media box anymore, the heat is an issue even more now. When I put the same build in a full tower, it was cool as Dr.J. Looked funny, but had to see if it was really hot due to the case or not. Stuffed back in the box, I had to revert to water to actually be happy. I spent more money than I should have trying all the fancy contraptions to get it in check, and a micro rad fixed it in one shot. So you might be bound by the downfalls of a SFF case. |

| Colonel Calamity | I wonder if your board doesn't just report the temperatures on the high side? Since the AC7 cooler has a 92mm fan and is rated 900-2500RPM, if it is just not speeding up at all and happening across multiple coolers then the board is probably looking at a different sensor for the fan speed. I would also check temps in CoreTemp and RealTemp programs, SpeedFan is known to misread sensors or have them mislabeled... that 70șC may actually be your GPU or northbridge temp. Also take a look at the temps in the BIOS itself without any load, does it show 40șC or lower? or is it showing 50+ ? ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |

| F Ucn rd dis U mst uzUNIX | The BIOS is a bit scarce, but capable of changing the fan mode. ![]() Response should be set higher than "Normal". The only fan I've ever had detected are the stock Intel PWM coolers. There's a setting to detect fans on boot, which I have disabled, but should be set when a new fan is installed. But with any 3-pin fan and a manual knob (like Zalmans), I can't get feedback. Speedfan is just about useless as well, and sees the same thing the BIOS does. There's a LOT of BIOS updates though, and haven't tried anything newer than 4 months ago. ![]() |
