good point. Pulling out the battery and clearing the CMOS for 20 minutes is a good thing to try.

I checked out this mobo on newegg and apparently other people are having problems with it too. A lot of times with low end mobos the onboard video goes bad early on. I have had the problem and so has yuri. Onboard video isnt the best way to go. I would borrow a cheap video card from someone and stick it in there. If it works then you know what the problem is.

I would tend to agree that it's probably the PSU. I am not a huge fan of Onboard Video, but for some rigs it's "Good Enough". A cheap PCI video card is always handy to have around for troubleshooting.

if the PSU does turn out to be bad, i strongly suggest going for a quality brand if you can swing it. the extra $20 on a PSU could be the difference between a fried system and a system that will run for years.

it may be not only your onboard video, but both your onboard video + onboard sound. Even the s939, DFI infinity m-atx board, that tyreal had at first, had the same problem.

well the new 470-watt PSU did nothing.

also, before that i popped the CMOS batter back in after about 12 hours being out, did nothing.

im so confused and this is pissing me off because the parts were working before.

im not sure how to ACTUALLY reset the CMOS on this board -- the actual little plastic cover that u need to shift around and what not -- i can't find it...

either way this needs to be fixed because

a) i dont have money to get new parts for my sister; and
b) my mom will really have my head if this doesnt work for her and her daughter

hellppp!

hook up speakers and turn them up to see if theres any sound once it starts...
I am suspecting the mobo... typically they beep if there is a problem, even if it doesn't normally beep on normal startup

Thanks HL and Corsair!
