Have you tried going a litle lower? Say, 1024x768. It might be a decent starting point. It's where I started with my Toshiba 26in Wide screen. JM.02 Bailey.

I have my settings at 1240X700 and I get a pretty good picture on my 1240X768 50" Panny Plasma.
You cant match 1:1 pixel mapping on a 768 display.

I have tried every res ... only one that even looks close is 1152 X 648

All other res is far more blurry.

sigh ...

Do you know if it is 720p or 720i? If it is 720i, try and see if you can set the refresh rate to an interlaced refresh rate
