Cheers man. I feel so much less stupid, now i know it isn't just me that can't work a set of headphones.

2x BFG 8800GT 512mb Graphics cards
4x1GB OCZ Platinum revision 2 DDR2 memory.(i was going to install Vista 64bit, but decided otherwise)
EVGA 680i SLI Motherboard.
2x Hitachi 300GB Hard drives.
Windows Vista home premium
No special CPU cooler
Jeantech luna 220 (best of a bad lot in the local PC shop)
Arctic 650W modular
