Stix has it right make sure the bios is set properly. Set 1st boot device to cdrom, 2nd boot to hdd, 3rd - I use other. Also make sure your time is set correctly. Before you do any of this clear your cmos, then start with the above steps.

Well regarding the PSU, I had a friend working at Fry's and I asked if he can pick one up for me, that one had an ATX_12V Connector.

As for the BIOS

I set the boot devices as correctly, also the time. I'm not quite sure how to clear the CMOS on this mobo, but after I set the boot devices my computer just shuts off at the post even before saying system boot failure. I'm not sure if it's the power supply, it's a pretty weak one, all I asked for him to do was bring one with ATX_12v

Also, The f12 - Boot setup thing, I can't get my keyboard to work in there, is it an issue if the Boot setup goes 1. Floppy Disk 2. LSsomething### 3. Hard disk 4. Cd-rom? I thought it was to be changed in the BIOS settings.

What exactly does System boot failure insert system disk, really mean? I have my WinXP CD In the cd-rom drive. Also I got my Keyboard to work in Boot setup, nevermind that. Now it just keeps giving me system boot failure...

yeah, without a 12v for the cpu, the system can become very unstable. best to wait till you've got 1.

The problem is the system is looking to boot and is not finding anything (anywhere) to boot from. You are absolutely sure the CD / DVD ROM drive is set as the first boot device?

Now we can't see the exact setup but also you are sure the optical drive is set as a Master correctly. How about if you go into the BIOS and look at the drives. Does everything show up OK?

Next to reset the BIOS one pretty sure method is to removethe CMOS battery for a few minuits. I would do that and then enter the BIOS and make sure the CD / DVD ROM is set as the first boot device. Make sure all the devices are connected properly and power is connected. Check those connections.

No, you don't need a floppy drive to install XP. This is a fresh XP Disk correct? Not something like a Dell or Gateway disk?

Err... Ok, I got everything to boot correctly! Now my CDRom is reading the disc, thanks Ron! However, now my computer, just SHUTS DOWN randomly and random times. I'm not sure why, and with this happening I can't even install WinXP... Any suggestions?

EDIT:

Ok, I just put the Bios into FAIl-SAFE Mode, I'm guessing it was an issue in the BIOS. What could it have been? Would the computer turn itself off if its over-heating?

Edit:
Wow, Okay I just checked my BIOS Temperature on my CPU... its at 125+ Celc... Is this normal..? cause wow that is hot. It's also got a heatsink on it, I felt around the CPU, it's not even that hot...

No that is not normal! That is far from normal. However on the bright side things are progressing. Now take apart the HSF on that poor CPU and clean it good. Apply a dab (rice sized grain) of thermal compound and reassemble the HSF. The machine is shutting down likely due to heat. Make sure the CPU and HSF are seated correctly.

You are doing just fine. CPUs have a funny thing about self preservation.

Lets clean things up and hopefully get a nice clean install.

Ron

Most definitely not normal. Do what ^he^ said, and you should be well on your way.
