| O.K. So having characters like that in the Tracking Log is not an uncommon occurrence.. If you look at the size of the scroll bar you'll see that the log file is quite large.. I sense that this Trojan has not been removed from this machine.. When the machine is/was working normally, and is not stressed, the Mouse and Keyboard, works quite stable, if that a good observation of their performance.. Not skipping and jerking around in their response.. (Very Smoothly).. The machine goes through it's Post-up and Boot-up in better fashion now, as opposed to a week ago when the 'Desk Background" would appear but the Desk's icons would not appear until several minutes passed.. This seems to be a better response, now.. Bill.. CPU:1.2 ghz. Board:ASUS CUSL2c 815 chip set Memory:512 meg. Video Card:ATI AIW Pro 128 HDD:80 gig. WD 7200rpm 8 meg. buffer 60 gig. | Hi Gentlemen: I'm back to report that I have removed AVG Free from this machine and installed Panda 2008+Firewall,v7.00 Beta (latest updates). I've followed the directions for installation, security configuration and scanning and all.. The directions say.... Removal of any Trojans, Viruses, and ad-ware works if you turn off System Restore while the scan is operating.. This removes any restore points.. After the scan is complete the System Restore is reactivated and a restore point is created. As this applies to this P-111 machine, I believe that any Trojans, viruses, Dial .exe's and questionable Cookies and malware is now removed from this computer.. I'll be keeping a close eye on this machine in the following days.. I think I have saved the Operating System Build, on this machine.. We'll see..![]() However, during the course of several complete scans, the computer "Blue Screens".. But, while doing selected scans, e.g. One drive at-a-time, for example, no "Blue Screens" appear.. I don't know why the stress with this machine occurs during a complete scan.. ?? That seems mystifying to me at the moment.. I'm wondering if someone might explain this phenomena.. As I understand, this Blue Screen happens to protect the computer from any Hardware/Software damage.. Is this issue something I should be concerned with? Bill.. CPU:1.2 ghz. | Did you make a note of the blue screen message and error number? If you type the message in on the microsoft website they might have an artical telling what it is and how to fix it. |

| Hi qazwsx: Thanks for that reply.. I'll take note of that Error Message.. I never knew what to do or how to search for error message faults.. Bill.. CPU:1.2 ghz. | Hi qazwsx: I'm still at it.. On two occasions, I copied the error code and they look like this: 0X0000000A(0XFE8FEF70,0X00000002,0X00000001,0X804E 3B49) 0X000000C5(0XFDEF61E8,0X00000002,0X00000001,0X8054 B539) Question? Do these codes look like the codes you are referring to? AND... is entering the complete code necessary? or... is just some part of these codes gonna track this fault down? Is this a case sensitive code? Sense I haven't searched this before, what am I expected to see after entering the code? e.g. How will I know if I'm tracking down this error? Will I be prompted along the procedure to some conclusion, in the search? Bill.. p.s. My machine is behaving better.. I have to say.. I'd say that as a layman around this fault/issue that the registry may be loaded with entries that need to be cleaned/removed or whatever.. Would that be a good assumption? In your opinion, what would be a good registry cleaner/utility/application to run to address this condition? Is the registry something that should be inspected and attended to, on a regular basis? ![]() ![]() ![]() CPU:1.2 ghz. Board:ASUS CUSL2c 815 chip set Memory:512 meg. | Troubleshooting a Stop 0x0000000A error in Windows XP Error Message: STOP 0x000000C5 DRIVER_CORRUPTED_EXPOOL Theres to articals about the error codes. it sounds like a stray driver. Does the stop error say driver anywhere? I recommend finding out all the specs and getting the latest drivers for your hardware |

| Hi qazwsx: Thanks for your reply.. I will follow the links you provided and see if I can put a perspective on them.. If I've been here before OR done this before I'd know the result already. I'm plowing new ground, here.. Thanks for having patience with me on all this.. and.. pointing me in this direction.. I think I have all the latest drivers for the hardware.. At any case I have a hardware notification utility that I'll run to make sure.. If you can see from that spec list of hardware in this machine you'll see some pretty old stuff on that list. In fact, I believe that the Blue Screen makes reference to software installations, as well.. ![]() I've tried to preserve all the operating features of that ATI AIW 128 Pro Graphics Card.. However, I'm not at all sure that all the features are working.. OR.. even if I've tried all the features.. It's been the Card that I've run in this machine all along.. OR sense XP Home has been loaded .. (Day ONE..) I can say that I seem to get an advance warning that the machine is gonna "Blue Screen".. The mouse and keyboard stops working (normally) and the machine respondes kinda weird.. It doesn't fully Lock-Up.. I sense that the machine is approaching a stress level.. Then... TOO-Late.. Blueey.... Bill.. CPU:1.2 ghz. Board:ASUS CUSL2c 815 chip set Memory:512 meg. Video Card:ATI AIW Pro 128 HDD:80 gig. WD 7200rpm 8 meg. buffer 60 gig. | ok, the only idea ive got left it going into the bios and restoring it back to factory settings. if you do, make a note of how things are set now so if it doesnt boot for whatever reason you have a note of 'safe' settings |

| Hi qazwsx: I've been into the BIOS today looking at various settings.. The "Blue Screen" suggests that I make changes to the cache ? Settings of I can't remember as I reply to your post but anyway I went in there and did what was suggested.. All I got was "more often" "Blue Screens".. So I put any BIOS adjustments back to where I found them.. I'm gonna do a Driver scan from the PC PitStop Page and see what appears from that utility.. It been quite the day.. I hope I'm not beat'in a Dead Horse. I know some Wipper-Snapper could look at this Box and Have it working in minutes.. Maybe.. I just need to know where to find him.. I know he would ask me why I'm spend'in all this time on such an out-dated machine.. Failing all this, I'm thinking about removing all the hardware except the boot drive(s) and Graphic Card and booting the machine after plugging in every piece of hardware (one piece at-a-time) till the "Blue Screen" re-appears.. That's quite a negative attitude to have.. BUT.... Could there be an alternate way to approach this? Bill.. CPU:1.2 ghz. Board:ASUS CUSL2c 815 chip set Memory:512 meg.
