why don't you install the stock chipset cooling back on and then RMA? it sounds odd that using aftermarket cooling voids the warranty.

Your parents must be very rich, or love you very much. you are a showcase example of why you should really think twice before modifying your hardware, and voiding the warranty.

There was a sticker on the stock heatsink and the board, they can tell whether you removed the heatsink or not.

Rich, I save up for all my computer crap and buy it myself... my parents are not exactly enthusiastic about my hobby, and you can see why... it's very expensive. I regret taking the stock cooling off, but what can I do now...

I'm just giving you grief Nate, we love ya man.

You are young and trying to learn the ins and outs of this hobby....you aren't doing anything different than many of us learned how to do it.....just be careful, as this stuff is very delicate. Hopefully, now you see why I tell people to use moderation when listening to people at sites like XS, and OC Forums.....I'm not trying to bash anyone, but those guys who break records and show off super results......do you think they just fire up systems and get those results, or do you think they burn up all kinds of stuff trying to do it? I personally know some of those guys, and they have ruined even some of my stuff right here at my house trying to overclock.....of course they aren't going to tell you about their failures...

We'll figure something out in regards to your board.

Very true... hadn't thought about it like that. Thanks Rich! Ya, I dunno about the board... again, I'd rather wait until my E8400 comes back from RMA just to make sure...

OK, wow, that was a f**king ordeal. I got my E8400 back from Intel (batch Q808), dropped it into the board and low and behold, it booted, first try. So either DFI Club was right or the E1200 is shot.

Also, the RMA process with Intel went pretty smooth, just emailed them with my problem, they got me the RMA number and I sent it in. They replaced it and sent a new one back, Second Day Air. Total down time was like a week.

Yeah, I'm just glad my board isn't actually dead! So what do you guys think, was DFI Club right and it was the BIOS, or is the E1200 dead? Cause I'm supposed to send the E1200 to Park--- Nevermind.
