UPDATE: I tried M$Technet and have been working with a guy there about this issue.He told me to do the same things I have already been doing.Another thing I thought of is uninstalling my graphics card drivers,whatever has to be uninstalled.Then go through the motions again to do a clean boot and install the camera.I have noticed lately that the graphics arent working as they should.Page size keeps changing from one use to the next.Sometimes the pages are wayyyyy too wide for the screen.Sometimes when I boot up,the page is about 5" x 8" and I have to click on enlarge etc. Any other thoughts before I have to call Logitech....I hate doing the phone thing for support,or would have called them by now.

EDIT: Here's a thought,after the initial install of the cam,I tidyed up the cables going down to the tower.In doing so,I wrapped the longest cable(webcam lead) around all the cables(mouse/KB/monitor/ etc.)....even though everything is insulated,is it possible that this is causing the interuption?

I would try it on several different computers, letting windows install its own drivers and see how the stuff works there... if it works on all of them except this one... then narrow down what isolates this one from all the others.... is it Vista? is it the chipset or USB settings in the BIOS... and so on

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Before I do that.....I have narrowed it down to this so far.It is changing my resolution to the lowest possible setting. Now,is it the GPU doing it,or the drivers for the cam? And,if by doing, could that be the reason it is not functioning correctly?

ok so remove all logitech software completely from your system, even if it is for a mouse or keyboard or whatever else.... then remove the drivers... reboot the system and plug it in letting it use the windows drivers but do NOT download updates from logitech. I had this problem with one of my XP computers recently, it ran fine with the windows drivers but as soon as i downloaded and installed the suggested ones from Logitech either by auto-update or manual download, it completely screwed it up... so I ran with the windows drivers ever since without a problem on both XP x86 and Vista x64

I noticed too that when checking the programs that the cam is loading 2x...1 time in x64 and 1 time in x86....after the last try,after it loaded,and you get the live cam window,it actually loaded the window 2x and said to complete the download I would have to wait,because another app was using it. Now I don know what all that means exactly,but it sounds wrong.Going to try what you mentioned next.Will post after.

My bad...I uninstalled the mouse and monitor,restarted my pc,and it went rite into exactly the same thing that the camera does, the lowest possible setting in color ( 8 ) bit.I had to manually change to 32 bit. to fix it. Damnit,now im wondering if it is having compatability issues with the monitor.Where's that F@#$%g hammer @. Warhammer Giant

Vista is protecting you from yourself. OK, step by step, give this a read. This is likely your problem:

How to Delete a System File in Windows Vista :: the How-To Geek

That should allow deleting the folder.

15 hours and counting,working on the webcam today. Lets take a different approach,shall we?

ImageShack - Hosting :: video2yb4.flv

If the link works,better than the cam does,then you might see something.What I would like those who see this to listen for,is the clicking sound embedded in the video. Is this caused by RAM feedback? The only major change with my setup since the cam,was the addition of 2 sticks of RAM.Is there such a thing as a USB filter for this sort of phenomenon...if that is what is happening? OR,am I just brain dead at this point?

ofcourse it dont work.$#@! give me a minute or 10

I have included a link in the prior post showing exactly what this cam is doing....I would really like to post my sons new build on here and mine as well.Maybe it will give you something more to go on.
I know this is becoming a royal pita,I have nowhere else to go here,I have sent the same link to M$Technet,and Logitech...no responses as yet.
Thanks,Jody
