Are you capping your upload speeds? You need to leave a minimum of 20kB/s available for outgoing htp requests and such, or it will slow to a crawl as you're experiencing. Run a speedtest and set your cap in utorrent. Also, it would be best to consolidate utorrent use to one machine, instead of two.

torrents from uTorrent choke the network.. that is just how it works... it is the same way with my setup here. As soon as I turn on utorrent, even if it is not doing any downloads or uploads, it is so busy "waiting" for a connection of any kind (it keeps multiple ports open), it bogs down the network.

I have not found any fix in the past few years for this other than to try different torrent clients.

I think I found the problem I turned off the DHT in utorrent It seems to help.
