| I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal. | The Celcius rating is probably correct, assuming this is a higher end videocard. My OC'd 7800GTX has been getting up in 100+C territory lately as well, which has caused my system to freeze during CSS. If that temp is correct Josher, than you've got an overheating problem. Check to make sure that the fan is spinning, clean out any dust bunnies, clean up internal wiring (airflow), etc. |

| So what do you guys think...when I bought my comp last year I basically did my research of what I wanted out of a magazine, I really was a ****** to what makes a good computer and money really wasn't an object at the time cuz my parents were getting tired of me complain about my junky old computer hehehe... Did I make good decisions on parts? | We take both criticism and positive comments very positively | thats not a bad system at all! do you have a second HDD for storage, or just the one Raptor drive? Anyways, are you comfortable installing an aftermarket cooler? Alot of people like the ZALMAN VF900. Should help keep it cool. I'm not sure if its still a popular VGA cooler, I really haven't kept up with them lately. I would like to add that he had to reset his PSU before he could turn on his comp sometimes, which usually indicates that volt protection had kicked in. Although it probably is his video card, it could also have something to do with the random shutdowns. Let us know if cooling your card helps ![]() Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 Conroe @ 2.80GHz Cooler Master GeminII - Thanks Rich and HL! | I'm still thinking faulty PSU, be thankful for the PSU volt protection. Check ALL connections, try a different PSU. If that doesn't help, it could also be a dead video card, only dieing which may explain the freezing/overheating. If you have a PCI card or something you can try, try it.
