I just finished first build but it wont work

One other thing to check for - make sure you've not only plugged in your power supply's 20 or 24 pin main ATX connector to your motherboard, but that you've also connected the supplementary CPU power connector (either 4 or 8 pin, depending on your motherboard).

the motherboard is brand new because i was having the same problem with another board. but i will takeout and clean my processor and reapply thermal paste.

Do you even know if the system's starting up (other than the fans)?

This could be as simple as putting the front panel connectors (i.e. power button, lights, etc.) in the wrong place... consult your motherboard manual and make sure you did it right. The colors aren't always right.

I have done this and checked over it three times. but still all the lights and fans turn on then off.

check also the (+)(-) sign and proper pin in the front panel switch... or check if the CPU latch is properly attached... this happened to my brother's computer once....

+1...

yes having the + & - signed connection makes a huge difference, misplacing them will not allow you to even post or power up... oh and there is even risk of burning your precious machine to hell...
