I ran the AVG scanner all the way through in regular mode, does that count? Or does it have to be in Safe Mode?

If you've ran it after deleting those entries and it no longer detects a virus, then you're okay.

Yep, ran it after deleting the files in regular mode.

I have always had good luck with a-squared for nasties... boot into safe mode and run a full system scan... that always fixes the ones my wife digs up
