Actually, that really doesn't help much cause we need to know:
  • If you have onboard sound or a sound card
  • What specific model from Dell so you can download new drivers
If you can tell us that without downloading that program, great.

Almost all Dell's use Realtek onboard sound. Every one I've had to fix was as simple as downloading the realtek drivers and going from there, soundcards are only added on the high end XPS or if the user did themselves.

Try Device Manager instead:
Right-click My Computer then select Properties
Select the Hardware tab
Click the Device Manager button

When you get the window that pops up, click the [+] next to Sound, video and game controllers and type what you have there. That usually says what you have for sound processing.

Quick google check says the K7S41GX is a Asrock board, and the onboard uses Realtek AC'97 codecs.

Realtek
Download the first one and install it, that should solve your problem hopefully.

All right,
I downloaded this one
Windows 98Gold/98se/Me/2000/XP/2003(32/64 bits) for Driver only. For Windows 98 SE, DirectX(R)8 is required to enable advanced features. (Executable file)
A4.022007/10/1518045k

What's the revision? You can find out in the "Mainboard" tab. Look for something that says "Rev."

Yep, thats the right one. Go ahead and install those and reboot your computer. Check to see if the sound works, if not we can easy delete the drivers through the device manager.
