Hacked drivers sound really cool but you have to remember that sometimes the hacked drivers break more than they fix. Games and applications are written for the stock driver settings, hacked drivers can modify those and actualy hurt performance in some cases.

For future reference be sure to make sure you have good air flow in your case and watch room temperature. Many of the bigger video cards push the heat envelope really hard.
