I shut off my pc completly after using it for like 3-4 hours at night. Why not leave it on?? For one the pc is noisy as hell and secondly the electricity cost down here is very expensive. I also unplug my DSL modem after using the pc. If the pc is in use and I am not around for like 30 mins or so, I shut off the monitor to save current.

i leave mine on as long as i can, sometimes it randomly restarts after upadting virus or windows, but mostly i leave it on because people leave me messages at night over aim, that and my computer is just noisy enough for me to drown out the quiet ringing in my ears. Oh yea and the light on the front helps me find my clock on the ground if it fell during the night, or my glasses, sometimes even a random sock. That and my virus scans at around 2 am.

24/7, I fold proteins guys!
Yep that's it, 100% load 24/7.

I restart every once in a while because it is also my main rig, and sometimes after a program installation or Windows Update it's necessary to reboot.

Leave 'em both on. Folding, ya know. And it keeps the dorm perfect.
Window closed, computer on = sauna
Window closed, computer off = slightly cooler sauna
Window open, computer off = freezer
Window open, computer on = perfect
