As for drivers, you need 64bit drivers. Signed, on top of that. Vista 64bit is a b**** about that.

Read carefully. The connector close to the slit on the floppy cable goes in the floppy, and normally the different wire (red normally) on the cable goes toward the power on the floppy. The different wire indicated pin 1. If the floppy light stays on, then the pin 1 isn't at the good place, flip the connector over. :)
Aye, I understand that, but my point is I can't get the floppy cable in without pushing out a pin. Which, I don't know if that's what I do.

I would think that it would be best if you pull the fourth stick of RAM out of your rig.As far as the floppy, you shouldnt have to push any pins out.It just has to fit,if you have the correct flat cable with the red line on it.Just my $.02

I have two 2GB sticks, not four.

Look carefully at the floppy cable and mating connector. You have the cable upsidedown. The reason you are pushing a pin is there is no hole (socket) on the connector with the orientation you have.

If possible, I'd give vista 64 a try... as long as the hardware is new you shouldn't have too much time finding drivers. You might have to try more than one driver (I know with the razer barracuda sound card, the newest vista 64 drivers on their website wouldn't work on 2 separate computers, but the older version of that same driver works great, stuff like that might happen to you)

But otherwise, vista 64 seems to be quite good with drivers, at least for me. (coretemp doesn't work though, not without some messing around that probably inst worth it, that's my biggest beef with vista 64)

Haha, I know that much. It's a keyed connector remember. It only going in one way. The hole for the tab is on top, so the tab on the floppy cable is on top.

Then check the pins for being straight and true. If each pin has a hole (socket) they sure should not push in. Look at those pins real close something is bent.

Yeah, it's mostly new stuff. Only things that are old that may have driver issues is the Bluetooth adapter and the drivers for the mobo....

These drivers have Vista all over them, but it doesn't say anything about x64. Can I just assume that or what?

No, don't assume. Vista 64 bit drivers will be labeled 64 bit and just plain Vista labeled as Vista.
