Very strange problems indeed, glad you got it all sorted out though!

I suppose that it could of been the capacitor that you bent. It might have broke one of the leads going through the motherboard.

Had to have been that. I bent a capacitor on my X-FI card and it worked out just fine though. Perhaps he damaged the cap itself?
