Default Re: Boot Issues

I had a same problem some years ago and it was the RAM but before you go ahead and buy new one, find out with memtest if thats really the problem.

download, extract to a bootable floppy and change it in the BIOS to boot from floppy firs. run at least 2 loops of tests to look for errors.

I'm currently using 2GB kingston valueram.

This is your problem! Ditch that crap ram and get some good stuff. When building my first build I tried getting by with kvr, and it screwed me (2 bad sticks). Never gonna use kingston again. I went and picked up some geil and all was well with the world.

I still have some of the first DDR400 ram that Geil made. It's done it's duties, overclocked and timings constricted, for the last 3 years till present day. Good stuff there.
