| did you configure the system on SLI mode, probably the two VC is not working or conflicting due to the fact that you used to do it in SLI or it require to be On SLI Mode specially when you install TWO CARDS... try reinstalling the SLI bridge and check if you SLI mode is the culprit... if nothing happened in it, try using One VC at a time... maybe faulty VC... BTW did you able to find the cause of BSoD, or the LOG ERROR that should tell you where is the problem occuring if not the SLI... Question: was everything working prior to removals of the Heatsenk Covers??? and by removing the VC Heatsink Cover you takes away the airflow guide of the FAN that supports the cooling of you GPU... | Yeah, I don't a SLI bridge in the pics with the shrouds off; do you usually have one on? ....Yes, NB as in northbridge.... I believe that the shrouds are there for a reason; it guides the air the fans are blowing through the fins of the heatsink on the 8800GTXs and out the back of the case. without them, the fans are just spinning, not cooling the cards. It could possibly be you RAM. maybe you could reseat the modules quickly and see if that fixes the problem. Try what Lokie said and see what is causing the BSODs. Good Luck! ![]() Last edited by Elysium; September 2nd, 2007 at 18:49. |

| you got a couple of theory to follow [culprits] it can be the following but not limited to Video Card Heatsink/Heat Dissipation/ OverHEat Gpu/SLI config prob RAM incompatibility/faulty/bad batch Nortbridge Heat Dissipation or Bad Set of Drivers' Softwares... you pick a choice of starting point for lookig, the best way is to do it by Lokie's way to find the BSoD and narrow the possible culprits... wow alot to answer LOL>...... okay here it goes... - the photos were taken without the SLI bridge becasue I had not re-installed it yet, I always run with it on. Boy you guys notice everything. Yes the system is configured for SLI mode and I had been running the cards for a week or so. BUt this last few days the system has been hanging, and in my gut it has't to do with heat, or GPU specific. the reason becasue I can run ORthos for 8hrs straight without any problems and this has nothing to do with GPU......but have run 3dmark and had it lock up. - I have not run the sytem wth the covers off, so "no" the covers being off have nothing to do with the sytem locking up.... - I will do a mem test to see if the sticks are no good or if I have done somehting to mess the ram up.... - Ill post the info if I can get the error message back (BSOD0 right??)... you guys are throwing terms aorund Im not familar with lOL..... | The term "BSOD" means " Blue Screen of Death". Post the error message from the BSOD; that will help. ![]() |

| LOl... thankyou,,,,,, I tested my luck and I ran 3dmark.... with the covers off the cards... I watched the temps and too be honest I think they seemed actually cooler than previous test.... both cards maxed out at 65 degrees, where as they get close to 70 before....although its night time here and cooler in the apartment.... but no BSOD!!!! | Ya know, I don't really understand the 2T/1T either to be honest. That might have been the issue though..... Sometimes one tiny little setting can throw the whole system off..... ![]() |
