Hey ThunDA, I have a question for you. Subjectively, what do you think about single core vs. dual core? Can you actually see/notice/feel a difference between the two excluding benchmark numbers?

Multitasking is going to be where you feel the most difference..Gaming seems to be the same whether im running single or dual core..

Although in general I feel dual cores make everything feel smoother and a little more snappy.. Not a night and day difference but I do feel its there..

I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

Ditto - I thought Josh Norem from MPC made an excellent point, in that you find yourself changing your computing habits with a dual-core system. With a single core processor, you learn to adapt to the limitations and won't find yourself attempting to perform several CPU intensive tasks simultaneously. With my X2 however, I won't give a second thought to ripping a DVD with a virus scan in the background, or a game running, etc.

Good point Paul, didn't think about it when I went the dual core route but prior to x2, I did curb myself as I was limited by the single core.

Alright Gents, just ran the SiSandra Arithmetic benchmark and get an error at the bottom. States benchmark has tested the primary cpu only. Then to fix, says I have to turn on the multi processor option. Any suggestions?
