I jut ran the Sea Tools from seagate but I can't seem to get the program to scan the drive that is in the enclosure, and that's the one that I had problem with.

UPDATE I left the laptop on all night without the second drive in and I woke up with the blue screen again. I think I am running ou of options right now :(

look into something called UBCD or Ultimate Boot CD, it has all sorts of free and open source test utilities on it to check over your hardware to see if it is the hard drive, motherboard or windows.

For a ton of info on BSODs, including the one you're receiving, download THIS PDF (shameless self pimpage).

In short, it looks like you have a driver issue going on, and because System Mechanic has evidently not been fully purged, that becomes a prime suspect. You mentioned backing up your data as of late, and if you've done so, the path of least resistance lies with following HP's advice and running a system restore, then being careful with what third party programs you install.

Short of that, I'd recommend running HiJackThis and, before making any changes, post your log on this forum for us to take a look at. And because it's worth repeating, DON'T make any changes until we've looked at it, as you can neuter your system otherwise.
