Great program Quakindude!!!
Just saw this post as I was reviewing my previous posts.

Glad it's working out good for you!

Since I've taken the time, and very little expense, of aquiring this program and using it, I no longer worry about crashes. I've done some serious overclocking/tweaking of my new system and the back up factor has made all the difference in the world.

I recently had to reformat and had to make back ups fast for all my media, it was totally worth it to buy an external HDD. I picked up a Western Digital 80 GB for 90 bucks at Wal-Mart. Worked out very nicely.

For my backup routines, I use a 160GB WD external hard drive and Norton Ghost. Best backup utility program I have ever used, bar none. It's nice because you can encrypt the backup and/or password protect it. Also, Norton Ghost is included with the Norton Systemworks Professional suite. For about $80 bucks you get all kinds of PC tools that maintain your computer in top notch condition. We are talking firewall, anti-virus, anti-spam, etc. etc.

Check it out sometime. I've been using it for about as long as I have been computing.

They are tape drives kind of like a floppy but they will hold 100 to 250 mb or more.

The older ones used a big floppy disk and held like 100Mb. I still have a drive and some of those disks.

I had one hard drive fail on my last year. Since then I've always had 3 HD's per computer.
Two internal and one external, Hard drive #1 had all important information and files cloned to #2 and the external almost daily.

Not to mention I have a laptop which can access that data and (now) i have a second desktop pc to have access to.

Plus I have Linux cd's so I can boot and not worry if there's a virus, as I can copy the essential files then run a virus scan then copy more files =P

And about panda's problem: they sell gold plated CD's at about a buck a piece and they are insured and guaranteed to last 50+ years. Check your fry's or newegg =)

Mine is 750, went from a 100 to that. I usually keep photos on mine, and once I get set up with my server and a 500 gig drive, I hope to transfer them all onto it, with some kind of catalog software.

To store all of my photos it would take 5 of those 750mb zippies.

ps: I still haven't installed a backup utility. I had bounceback from my old drive....that worth re-installing or should I try to pick up ghost?
