Yea it is. "Unknown Device" but it's gone now...I think it was my sound card it isn't there anymore.

Yeah, what happens if you try and install the drivers from the Asus disk from the motherboard?

I'm not sure if I mentioned it in my original post, but it poses the same problem.

Also, that display driver thing installing it manually, and trying to install all the components manually through the folders didn't work.

Some stupid "Installation Manager" gets installed, but then it doesn't friggin install anything. It's extremely annoying to be honest.

Very strange indeed. So what was the result with trying an older driver version?

Same problem with any driver version I've tried.

Reinstall Windows?

Maybe you could also try a 3rd party driver like Omega drivers or something?

EDIT:
nvm, doesn't look like they have Vista support...

Hmm yea I could definitely try those. I forgot about those Omega drivers!

Also found NGO and DNA drivers, but neither say anything about Vista...

But Omega drivers claim to be very compatible and friendly with Vista, no?

Where do you see this? When I got to the ATI download section, Vista is not listed as an option for downloading the appropriate driver...

I did find a beta Vista driver created by the folks at DriverHeaven.net that might be worth a try...
