if it is SATA then there may be problems with the SATA controller itself on the board or bad hd.
Thanks will try this tip, will install in another c.omputer to see what happens.
Another question is now the Lan isn't working, hooked up DSL modem and not picking up LAN just USB port. So having problem hooking up Router for wireless laptop.
Am going to Biostar web site to get the drivers for the Lan and install them and see what happens then.
Will check back to see if anyone has any ideas about this issue.

80 G HDD for Ubuntu 7.10
17" CRT
Mainly for Test Machine
