What are you saying?

Asking if it isn't intentional/bullshit, so he can resell later on/separate parts.

Well, the video card was a bit snug, so I performed the typical light jimmy back-n-forth to get it out.
Suddenly, I hear a crack! Like an idiot (because I was in a rush) I forgot to release the little secure tab at the back of the card.... and combined with the extra leverage I had frmo applying pressure at the HSF.... cracked the tab on the bottom of the video card board!!
I don't think it will cause any performance loss.... but I can't honestly ship it to the ebay buyer in this condition :(

Looks like I'll have to RMA it to EVGA and hope they send me a new one.
Also, had to refund the buyer's money, and explain it to him via email.
Hope he understands.

What a freakin mess.....

.
And you're going to RMA something because YOU screwed it up? Once again, I find myself in a position to thank someone for making my costs of owning a computer higher.

Anyway, Craigslist is a great way to sell things locally. Selling whole systems on Ebay generally doesn't bring in any impressive prices.

Amazing.... I go away one day for work, and this is the kind of unjustified accusations I find when I return???
Many people believe that internet forums are the scurge of the internet. The bottom of the barrel, if you will.
In most respects I'd have to agree.

It's the place where individuals with no backbone go, to let out their frustrations on the world, judge all books by their cover, and shout out loud or stand tall where they would normally whimper in the corner of real life.

As a psychology minor, I learned that those who are quick to blame someone else, do so because they themselves know they are capable of committing such acts.
To said person committing such acts as lying, cheating, stealing, etc. come naturally, and are the only plausible solution because that's exactly what they would do.

I understand not all of you were pointing the finger at me, but it doesn't matter because there's always going to be a few cowards on any internet forum, no matter what the topic.

You need to step back and look at what we all know about this situation. You want to sell your computer, so you post it here. After a few days of no interest you decided to sell it on Ebay. It's obvious you don't have much experience with Ebay, so you don't get what you think you should. Some of us offered some advice based on our experience on Ebay, but it's already done so our advice will only help you next time. Then all of a sudden you break your video card, and instead of asking the buyer if he wants to end the sale, you just refund his money. Then you tell us you are going to RMA a Video Card you broke, which is unethical. Based on what we all know of the story up to that point, it does look very fishy.

Something you can't learn in College is experience. Many of us have been dealing with Ebay, internet forums, and computers in general for 10 or more years. So we know what people do and what they are capable of. Another part of dealing with people is to know human behaviors and how people react to different situations based on your own experiences. It's very plausible, that in your given situation you would come up with a reason on your own not to sell the computer at that price, and the fact you would RMA a video card you broke tells us you are capable of dishonest behavior.

None of us know you outside of this forum. We don’t know what type of person you are outside of what you type here. But based on the little information we do have about you, and what we have seen people do in the past we made an assumption. Then add the fact that you instantly became defensive, and fired back with insulting remarks lead us to believe that our suspicions were correct.

I am locking this thread, because nothing good can come from it at this point. Good luck selling your computer, and I hope you learned something from this experience and will make the right choice in the future.

i doubt EVGA'll replace that cracked GPU as its your own cause, not a manufacture defect. EVGA's warranty covers OCing and Burnout, not physical dmg to the board.
And is it really necessary to bring up your psychology minor? Look its pretty simple why people think about it like this: You wanted around $1000 for the computer, you only got a bid around $500, just put 2 and 2 together. Even a psych minor can figure out why people'll be suspicious.

And to be fair with everyone, the question was asked to post a picture of the damage to the video card!

Rather than being on the defensive and cutting everyone down, all you would of had to do was post a picture of the card, and pretty much said whoops
