| Just an update from my end - I found out the P4 computers are only available to non-profits located in SB County, so I am working to find one who will partner with us. There is another avenue which everyone should be aware of which may have good possibilities; Whether you are a church-goer or not you can in general talk to the leadership and have a call put out to the congregation for working unused computers. Over the next week I am going to approach the largest ones in San Bernardino about that and I would encourage all on the site who aren't scared to go into a church to do that in your towns also - I'm pretty sure we would get an amazing response. Rich provided me with a link to a non-profit whom I contacted hoping they have an office in SB County - I have put in a request for them to partner with us in obtaining the computers. I think also that if we get a donation thing going that we could bid on the pallets of 10 or the complete single systems w/monitor that by law have to be placed on public auction. Maybe someone out there is up on how e-bay works and rich could delegate that to them to do. That way I can let the board know when new ones go up for bid and more importantly let you know when someone defaults on a sale - that way we can make an offer in place of the default and the chances are good that we could get them. Lots of laws and regulations concerning this I didn't know about but I'm learning! Have a great weekend! Jerry |

I have two INTEL processors and motherboards, and Mushkin sent me three S939 processors and motherboards.......thats five systems. We need memory, video cards, power supplies, and things like optical drives, etc. Those of you with stuff listed on the Hoopty rig part list....if you guys can send me the stuff you have contributed, I can get this ball rolling. | We take both criticism and positive comments very positively | I emailed Stephen with the link to the forum thread, a list of companies involved, and a description of what we are doing. i haven't heard back from him yet. One of these computers is hopefully going to a project right here in Vegas, which has the largest population of homeless veterans in the country. We have a program thats all volunteer that helps homeless vets, and I think it would be nice to have a computer for them to help vets get services, aid, find jobs, etc. INTEL QX9650 // Gigabyte EP45 Extreme // 8GB PC2-8500 // BFG GTX260 MaxCore // DD Torture Rack // Seagate 750GB HDD // OCZ Vendetta // PC Power & Cooling 620W PSU |
