I'm going to work on that Monday - there are about 50 of them and they all need hd's. They have batteries but no chargers - they need 18.5 volt dc with the round plug compaq uses - not the square one. Jerry

So far I think we have a project that has grown to become much larger than we first expected; at least as far as I had expected. Rich, you've got community support, so let's take this to the next level. If my housewife sister can deliver student desks to HOA (Horn of Africa) villiage schools from Florida, than I'm pretty damn sure we can all make a miricle happen here. Thank you all for your positive comments and support thus far. I know that if I were on the receiving end, just hearing about this would renew my faith.

Capper, Das Capitolin, and crew - Tomorrow I will be approaching the people in charge about this but I still do not have a contact number for who is heading it up. I don't want to appear a fool when I approach them and then have it fizzle out to be nothing. Here is my e-mail - will someone take the responsibility of giving me their number so I can put you guys in contact with the man who makes the decisions about this stuff? Thanks! audioman7@verizon.net Jerry

Jerry, I do not work for Hardware Logic, and much like you I am a participant and not an organizer. I'm sorry if anything I said was misleading, but Rich (Capper) is handling this project. At the moment, I don't have a shipping address either.

Thanks, Capper and Das Cap! No, I did not misunderstand - I simply have a premonition that this will get bigger than one group and take on a life of it's own! Here is a thought way ahead of the game - file for nonprofit status. Lots of things are available to them which would help here. Got your e-mail, Capper - will be calling tomorrow around noon my time. God Bless! Jerry

Capper - Take a break, you're working too hard - we're on your side. I'll get in touch tomorrow and see what we can do - if nothing else I'll see if I can buy some of these and donate them. But I am pretty sure Eddie being gung-ho reserve, it'll work! Good Evening, All!

| I'm Evil | No, I should explain a few things. 1. As the person who started this, and who is organizing it, my name is out there, for better or worse. I don't care in the slightest about credit, or anything like that.....but if something bad happens, it comes back on my name. We have a great community, and I'd love very much to take every person at their word, but my experiences have taught me to be very protective of myself and my friends 9and my site). Even well intentioned people can do great harm. 2. As I said, I've done this before, and have things well in hand. there wil;l also be one point of contact, me, for anything involving this project or this site....with #1 above being a big reason. If I need help, or want help, I'll ask. Please don't anyone be offended, but thats the way its going to be. As I said above, we already have a chief, we just need to start getting hardware donations........which is tough when we can't even get people to DIGG this thread.
