| That'll be cool but ill try and pay if I can else it'll be the second time you've bailed me out. It will mean that someone gets my PSU with the LED mod since thats sitting around in my room. Thats a thought... will these rigs be pimped? Last edited by gvblake22; November 2nd, 2007 at 14:18. Reason: consecutive posts merged |

| A Lonely Geek | Rich, I really don't know what to say...that's something coming from someone that always has something to say. Thank you for your idea. I have several cases around. Some may have a scratch or two, because I use what I review. Don't really know what else I may have, I recycle stuff into rigs for my grandkids. Though I'm getting more stuff now that my rig is up-to-date. |

| We are our brothers keeper. If we neglect our brothers, they will neglect our needs. If we provide for their needs, our kindness shall enforce their sacrifice. I am a disabled veteran, and athough my level of disability has no critical impact on my daily life, many cannot claim the same benefit as they return to the nation they have served. I am also a business person in the computer industry, with a site of my own. It would be an act of pure selfishness to ignore the needs of others who are just beginning to uncomfortably adjust to a social life that was sacraficed for our freedom. It would be a lie only to myself if I thought they didn't need a hand to lift them above the rubble. Please PM me the specific details, and I will ship out whatever my inventory can spare. I personally have more than enough to make a few systems, so I will send whatever I can. Olin Coles Benchmark Reviews Performance Computers Inc |

| I am also a dissabled Vet, just like Olin my dissablility does not limit me terribly. I will also help out however I can. I think I can put some items together for this as well. | A Lonely Geek | Thank you guys for your service. Fortunately, I survived seven years as a paratrooper without a scratch....well...none that were permanent anyway. LOL As you, I know a lot of guys who weren't so lucky. Many don't realize what kind of opportunity this could be for the vet. I have a friend who was a plumber. He was in a wreck that left him unable to do manual labor, and in constant pain. He had a truly junk computer, and asked me about building one about that time. I got him started, gave him a case and PSU to help him afford the project. He knew pretty much nothing about them prior to that. Now, not only is he in college studying computer science, he makes money building websites, touching up photos, etc. Now, I ask him for help. LOL Computers have given him a new lease on life, a way to make a livelihood, gave him self-esteem when he was at his lowest. I'm quite proud of him, and glad I could help. I think it is awesome that other hardware sites are getting involved. Was proud to see my own OCIA.net signed up. Haven't talked to Shawn about it yet, anxious to see what he is going to do. Olin, you have some great reviews. I'm the news guy at OCIA.net...I post them whenever I can. Actually just posted your latest one. BTW Rich, I posted this thread too. | Capper & Crew - I presently work for San Bernardino County in SoCal as an Electronic Information Security Specialist (long title - means I wipe hard drives) and we take our old computers - Gateway,Dell, and some HP Pentium 4's - and sell them on on-line auctions at $20 each. Pentium 3 machines are $15 each. These are usually in lots of 10. My suggestion would be that if you were to call the SBC Purchasing Dept. and speak with Eddie Amaya you might be able to make some arrangements with him (maybe some donations or lower price and first right of offer) as he is Reserve status himself and very oriented to what you are doing. I do not have the number in front of me but I will post it as soon as I get it. I will attempt to get his personal number - it will be Monday before I can get either or before you will be able to reach him. I will run front for you so he knows what you are about! My e-mail is audioman7@verizon.net. If you wish to communicate with me in further detail e-mail and I will provide you with my phone number or you can give me yours and we will see what we can put together! Edit: Forgot to tell you - we have an ongoing inventory with normally about 500 on hand at any given time - we process about 100 a week. There are also many useable cards and parts which get shipped to general auction which might be available. At the present moment I have about 50 Compaq Armada pentium 3 laptops which are short hard drives and ac power supplies. These are good machines from the sheriff's department but they kept the hard drives. Any interest in those? God Bless! Jerry Last edited by Audioman7; November 3rd, 2007 at 10:22. |

| I'm Evil | I have emails in to a few organizations, and will keep you guys updated on which direction we go. My personal preference is Wounded Warriors, followed by the VFW, and American Legion.....I've heard fantastic things about the Wounded Warriors, and they include guys who are actually still active duty. | I put this in my StumbleUpon approves, and will be adding it to my del.icio.us, where it will show up on my latest favorites both at my Facebook page, and on my blog. I'll also blog about this, to spread the news about it. ![]() ![]() |

| Colonel Calamity | wow I'd be happy with one of those laptops jkI was thinking about stopping at walmart for one of those $348 laptops but decided against it, I would rather have more power over my purchases ![]() /end sacasm/ Good to see we have more jumping on board. If laptops do happen to come in, I have done some laptop work before so let me know if I can be of any assistance. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair!
