I talked to a Logitech Rep standing in the speaker room at CES and asked him the exact same question. He said said as far as he knew Logitech was just going to stick with the Z5500's because they are still selling like crazy and everyone loves them. Plus there isn't much else available on the market right now that can compete with them (given the requirement for a digital audio input). Klipsch is the only other manufacturer I've found that offers a 5.1 system that is as powerful and offers digital inputs.

There's no digital inputs on it.

Are we both talking about the Logitech Z-5500 speaker system? The Z-5500's most definitely have digital inputs, it is one of it's most highlighted features. If you were referring to the Klipsch speakers, I should have been more specific and mentioned the ProMedia GMX series speakers with digital inputs.

You and your editing of posts... hahaha.

Yes, I meant the Klipsch speakers if you actually read your sentence. . I wasn't actually aware the GMXes had digital inputs, but they're not on the market.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Yeah, after I posted that I re-read the part you quoted and it clicked in my head!
Anyway, it does appear as though the 5.1 GMX system from Klipsch is about impossible to find, but the 2.1 GMX system seems to be available. :dontknow:
Still supports my point though, there is really nothing out right now that can compete with the Z-5500 speakers as far as power and features.

Yes, because it's still in production... haha.

I think it looks out of place though... the satellites I mean... they truly are, like, out of this world.

Who cares, the Z-5500s win. GO BUY THEM!

Cons: They don't sound very good. When i do it again, i'll spend a few bucks for a quality system

Cons: when it came, two of the speakers were broken, luckily, i was able to super-glue them back together. very cheap quality all around, but for $xx, its not half bad
