Maybe it isn't spillage, could very well be dust or pet hair. Can also be crumbs or ashes. When was the last time you blew it out?

Next idea, I see it's USB, do you have the bios set correctly?
Have you tried a PS2 adapter?

I've heard nothing but good things about them, so my guess is that it's some setting that needs to be tweaked.

One last thought - control panel > device manager > USB > Root hubs > properties > power management > uncheck the entry *turn this device off to save power.

I know this is of little help, but if you go to buy a new KB, take a serious look at the Logitech G15. I simply *adore* this KB!

thanks for the suggestions, but the saitek that i still have (already returned one) has been tested in all 4 of my machines, and i have tried it with the PS/2 adapter back when my usb ports were filled up. (had lots of periphials going for a video editing project my folks asked me to do.)

I love my Saitek Eclipse !!
It has survived me dropping a PIZZA on it! (and the following burst of
Pc rage).I had to take it apart to clean the sauce out of the keys.
It was pretty easy to do,well protected from liquid shorts, all the keys are in a cartridge so did not have to place em back one by one.All the keys still work after a year now.It has been smaked a few times after getting pwned in game. Very tough KB.Buttons are firm and yet Smooth.Great feel to the keys. The only thing i cant figure out is why the volume buttons do not do anything. Has been a great keyboard!

Newegg replaced it even tho the 30day warranty was up, and now that one has failed also. First the escape key died, it doesn't com back up spamming the escape command, then the rest of it died just like the first one.--You are completely correct on that review!-I had mine for 13 months and it just stopped working on the lefthand side. The backlite quit also.I took it in today and it's toast. I had to get a new one. Now I see they are covered for 2years. Thats nice but this system was custom built 13 months ago then the guy went out of business. All the parts were purchased in his name so Idon'tknow if Ican be refunded or not. What junk to fall apart so fast and there was no spills or being banged around at all.By the way. I just joined this forum rightnow just to back up what you said about this keyboard.

LONG LIVE LOGITECH!

Welcome Robspace1! Why not introduce yourself in the Introduction section?

About this keyboard thing: Seems like this Saitek keyboard has a lot of people lovin' it. It might be a software issue, as it would seem those are pretty nice keyboards. I have never owned one myself, though. I like my $20 Belkin keyboard.

I've had my Eclipse for more than a year and the only difference between now and when it was new is that it's gotten dirty.

Well'mine did the exact same thing as JAZZY's did. Partial keyboard faiulre for no reason at all. The one I replaced it with cost 10 bucks and is working great.I do miss having the lights though' but o well. I also would never buy another EZ DUB DVD Burner from Lite-On- Mine lasted about a year and just quit. The tray started going in and out at will and now it stopped reading the disk altogether.

I have a Saitek Keyboard.. had it for about 4 months now..... I have never had a problem with it... love the BLue LED lights in the background of the keys, and the volume control is always a plus. I purchased this keyboard becasue its smaller than your average keyboard leaving me more desk space for the other endless tons of junk I keep around me. I game alot and have started to notcied my "c" key is starting to fade or blurr, but that has sinced stopped for I now have a Gaming Speed pad....... but all in all I have no problems with the keyboard....

Logitech G15 all the way!

BTW, I've given lots of clients Saitek keyboards with their computers and such, never once have had a complaint. Actually I got a lot of positive feedback in which people claim they love the boards!
