The only way to stop the computer from paging is to stop the paging alltogether. This will just force the kernel and drivers to stay in physical memory =D

polo- DIE! And sure, I'll post them here and take full credit for it all!!!

mkay, this thread is is reg fixes and other hacks. So its time for a nice little hack. Alot of people already know about this one.

http://pandaman.9999mb.com/files/uxtheme.zip

Code:
This will enable you to install and use 3rd party themes in windows XP!

Run "replacer.cmd" and follow the directions it gives you. Make sure not to have your winxp cd in the drive!

The file you want to replace is called "uxtheme.dll". You can find the original in %systemroot%\system32\ (note that you can copy and paste that string to find the system root if you are not sure where it is). The replacement file is in the root directory, where this README is. After the files are switched and you cancelled out of the prompt for inserting the windows XP cd to insure that your system remains unreliable and unfashionable =D , reboot.

Now copy and the folder "WindowsDark" from the .zip file and paste it in %systemroot%\Resources\Themes. Now go to the control panel > Display > Appearance and select "WinDark". You now have a much sexier winxp theme!

You can find this and more styles at http://www.customize.org/list/stylexp

Great question. Run some benchmarks both ways and let us know! :thumb:
